How to Debug a CSS Selector That Does Not Apply

If a class is written but the preview at editor.clincoo.buzz does not change, the selector is usually losing, mistyped, or the CSS file is not linked.

Check that the CSS file loaded

In the Network tab, filter for CSS. A 404 means the path on the link tag is wrong. Relative paths are resolved from the HTML file, not from the folder you assumed. Save both files and reload the preview.

See which rule wins

Right-click the element, choose Inspect, and open the Styles tab. A struck-through rule is overridden. A more specific rule below it, or one using !important, is usually the winner. Match specificity instead of adding !important first.

Match the class name

Compare the class spelling in HTML and CSS, including hyphens. .tombol-utama is not .tombol_utama. A pseudo-class such as :hover only applies while the pointer is over the element, so test it by forcing the :hover state in the Styles pane.

Once you find the winning rule, paste the selector and file name into Clincoo's AI chat. Include the related HTML and CSS snippet, not only the sentence "CSS does not work".
